Charles Ray Parsons, 69, of Point Pleasant, died after a long illness at the home of his daughters, Bonnie and Ralph Thompson, on Sunday Nov. 1, 2009.

He was born July 28, 1940 in Jackson County to the late Raymond Parsons and Gladys Randolph Parsons. He was a an U.S. Army Vet. He worked on the river for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol See Parson; and a sister, Janita Reynolds and John Reynolds; and son, Bobby Sanders.

He was survived by daughters, Bonnie and Ralph Thompson, Leona and Richard Boswell, Patricia and Tom Christner; son, Jackie Parsons; sister, Shirley Williamson; brother, Jack Randolph, and Kenneth and Sue Randolph; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his life will be held 7-8 p.m. Friday Nov. 6 at the Deal Funeral Home. The burial will be at the convenience of the family in the forest hills cemetery in Flatrock. E-mail dealfuneral@suddenlinkmail.com to send condolences to the family.
