Charles J. Wray, 88, of Apple Grove, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2012, in the Emogene Dole Hospice House of Huntington, with his loving family at his side. He was born June 5, 1923, in Cabell County, a son to the late Ernie Judson and Edith Wray. He was an retired chemist for Monsanto of Dayton, Ohio, and was a graduate of Hannan High School.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Kerns Wray; one grandson, Lee Cooper; and brothers, Ernie Lee and Howard Wray.
He is survived by his second wife, Marie Wray of Gallipolis, Ohio; loving daughter, Linda & (Glen) Lambert; son, Ernie & (Donna) Wray; stepchildren, Eddie & (Barbara) Bowen, and Patty Thacker; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and a special friend, Frank Smith.
Charles’ funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home with Max Spurlock officiating, and burial will be in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Pliny. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home. An online registry is available at www.dealfh.com.
Charles (Skeeter) was a loving dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at Emogene Hospice House for there care and kindness to thier dad and the family.
