Charles David Bechtle, 68, passed away July 29, 2012, at his home in Kissimmee, Fla, after a fifteen year fight with Heart Disease, Diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

As a former resident of Point Pleasant, he lived on Spruce Avenue with his wife and two children. He was a driver for Smith Transfer in the mid-sixties . He worked at the family store, Farmers Hardware from 1967-1987 before becoming an employee of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., where he worked for 19 years before retiring. He was instrumental in building the computer systems for Give Kids the World and did other charity work with the Walt Disney Company. In Point Pleasant, he was a member of Odd Fellows and Moose Lodge.

He leaves behind his wife, Judy of 45 years; daughter, Trisan Bechtle Boudreau; son-in-law, Donald Boudreau; son, Charles David Bechtle II; three granddaughters, Breona Bechtle, Ketayla and Kalina Boudreau; grandson, Chase David Bechtle; step-grandson, Dylan Allers; his devoted schnauzer, Lady; three sisters, Mary Schafer, Elizabeth Rayburn, and Jackie Bechtle; two nieces, Jamie and Mary Ann Schafer; and nephew, David Schafer.

A celebration of his life will be at his family home in Kissimmee, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to The American Heart Association, The Diabetes Association and Alzheimer’s Association.
