POINT PLEASANT — An accident that occurred late Friday morning caused traffic to be stalled on U.S. 35 for more than two hours.

According to a representative at the Mason County 911 Center, a tractor trailer was driving on the road when its 110-foot long, 38,000-pound eye beam fell off.

Due to this, traffic on U.S. 35 was temporarily stopped until 12:53 p.m. There were no injuries reported, and Mason County Emergency Service Personnel along with the Point Pleasant Fire Department and Mason County Sheriff’s office assisted in the accident. The Department of Highways was notified as well.
