POMEROY, Ohio — The Miller golf team took an eight-stroke victory over the field Thursday night, during a quad match at Meigs County Golf Course.
The Falcons fired a 171 in the play-six, count-four format, while Trimble was second at 179. Meigs took third with a 200 and Eastern was fourth with a 216.
Miller was led by match medalist Chris Gamble with a three-over par 37. Austin Doughty marked a 39, Shawn Hayes posted a 45 and Tylor Newman rounded out the Miller team total with a 50. Scotty Duffy (53) and Collin Pargeon (57) both played for the Falcons but did not effect the team score.
The Tomcats were led by Brayton Hazen with a 38 and Cole Shifflet with a 39. Nick Smith marked a 50 and Casey Moore posted a 52, rounding out the THS total, while Jeff Browning (53) and Tyler Sayre (54) also played for the Tomcats.
Meigs was led by John Little with a 46 and Isaiah Ash with a 49, followed by Gino Casci with a 52. Bryce Swatzel and Josh Schwab both played fired 53 for the Maroon and Gold, but only one counted toward the team total.
Jacob Brewer led Eastern with a 48, followed by Ty Bissell with a 52 and Dillon Swatzel with a 56. Sean Evans rounded out the EHS total with a 60, while Kaleb Honaker (61) also golfed for the Eagles.
Eastern will return to action on at Wahama on September 9.
