MASON, W.Va. — Now that’s how you defend your home course.

The Point Pleasant golf team claimed an 11 stroke victory over visiting Ripley, Monday night at Riverside Golf Club in Mason County.

PPHS senior Kelsey Allbright earned match medalist honors with a four-over par round of 39 on the front nine. Allbright was also the only golfer with a birdie on the day, going one-under par on the par-five eighth. Bryce Tayengco added a 44 for Point Pleasant, followed by Rhett Lanier with a 50. Matthew Martin’s 59 rounded out the team score of 192, while Hunter Holcomb (60) and Logan Hill (67) also played but did not effect the team total.

The Vikings were led by Wes Withrow and Juntin McKown, who each shot 48. Elijah Riffe marked a 51 and Derek Hill added a 56 to cap off Ripley’s 203. Lucas Blankenship fired a 69 in a noncounting effort for RHS.
