THE PLAINS, Ohio — The Meigs boys and girls track teams both finished fourth at Wednesday night’s Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division track meet at Athens High School.


The Lady Bulldogs took first in the girls competition with 193 points, followed by Vinton County (112.5) and Alexander (94). Meigs was fourth (70), Nelsonville-York was fifth (51.5), while Wellston rounded out the six team field with two points.


Haley Kennedy finished second in the 400m dash (1:05.02) and fourth in the 800m run (2:34.64), while Kelsey Hudson was second in the shotput (32-3.5) and fourth in the pole vault (7-6) to lead the Lady Marauders. Gracie Hoffman was third in both the 800m run (2:31.18) and 1600m run (5:43.98) for Meigs.


The 4x400m relay team of Kennedy, Morgan Russell, Madi Greene and Hoffman (4:31.41), the 4x200m relay team of Greene, Russell, Hudson and Haiden English (1:57.54) and the 4x100m relay team of Greene, Hudson, English and Adrianna Rowe (55.41) all finished second, while the 4x800m relay team of Cheyenne Gorslene, Jordan Roush, Tara Walzer-Kuharic and Madison Stewart (12:37.17) finished fourth.


Athens took the boys championship with a score of 167, followed by Vinton County (133) and Nelsonville-York (130). Meigs was fourth with 68 points, Alexander took fifth with 22, while Wellston was sixth with three points.


Nathan Mecek was the lone individual champion for the Marauders, winning the discus with a throw of 128-10. Nate Hoover was third in the 400m dash (52.11), Colton Lilly was third in the high jump (5-4), while Brandon Mahr was fourth in the pole vault (9-6).


The Marauder 4x800m relay team of Dillon Mahr, Mitchell Howard, Brandon Mahr and Jake Swindell took first (8:54.02), the 4x200m relay team of Jordan Hutton, Hoover, Isaiah English and Dillon Mahr was second (1:40.32), the 4x400m relay team of Hutton, Dillon Mahr, English and Hoover was third (3:40.29) and the 4x100m relay team of Trey McWilliams, Hutton, Evan George and Keynath Rowe finished fourth (50.14).
