POMEROY, Ohio —Worth the trip.

The visiting Athens girls golf team recorded a 228 Thursday night to win a tri-match at the Meigs County Golf Course. Meigs was runner-up in the match with a 234, while Eastern finished third with a 240.The match was contested under the play six, count four format.

Athens was led by match medalist Stevie Putnam, who shot a 52 on the par 34 course.Mikala Perry fired a 53 for the victors, while Vanessa Carey marked a 56 and Hannah DeBruin added a 67. Sarah Johnson (78) also played but did not contribute to the Lady Bulldogs total.

Freshman Kendra Robie led the Lady Marauders with a 54, followed by Alisha Foster, Karlee Norton and Kylie Dillon, who each shot 60. Dannett Davis (61), Megan Cleland (64) and Sarah Curl (72) all played but did not count toward the MHS total.

The Lady Eagles were led by sophomore Allie Grueser, who shot a 55. Katelyn Edwards fired a 60, Hannah Hawley marked a 62, while Grace Edwards capped of the EHS total with a 63.
