According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 58-year old Jerome Saunders of Columbus, Ohio, was arrested Friday, Aug. 8, during a traffic stop along U.S. 23 for drug trafficking.

Reports from OSHP, a vehicle was stopped for a lane violation along U.S. 23. The driver of the vehicle Jerome Saunders, 58, was asked to step out of the vehicle. According to reports, Saunders through discarded an object into a nearby field as he exited the vehicle.

After the are was searched, troopers found the object, which contained 48 grams of cocaine worth more than $4,000.

Saunders has been charged with possession of cocaine, drug trafficking, as well as tampering with evidence. He was transported to the Scioto County Jail.
