Six months after an area woman went missing, the Portsmouth Police Department is not commenting on their progress in the case.

Megan N. Lancaster, approximately 25 years old, who maintains an address in Wheelersburg, was last seen in the Wheelersburg area on or about April 3 of this year.

At that time Portsmouth Police Detective Ron Davis said Lancaster was known to have frequented gas stations and convenient stores in Wheelersburg.

Lancaster’s vehicle was found abandoned at a local business in Portsmouth. Her family has not had any contact with her since the date she was last seen.

Detective Sergeant Jim Charles referred an inquiry by the Daily Times to Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware or Davis. Calls to both on Monday and Tuesday were not returned.

In April the owner of the Community Counseling and Treatment Center offered to double reward money up to $5,000 for anyone with information as to Megan’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to pursue all available information.

Megan Lancaster is a white female, is 5-feet-6 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds. She has blond hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who knows her whereabouts, should contact the Portsmouth Police Department Detective Bureau at 740-354-1600. Davis can be reached at 740-353-7580.
