Marshall University’s “2014 Week of Welcome” activities extended to the Mid-Ohio Valley Center in Point Pleasant on Friday when incoming freshmen were welcomed to the Thundering Herd family. These days, the majority of the student population at the MOVC are “traditional,” meaning, they are recent high school graduates, as opposed to the “non-traditional,” students who are typically adults who have been out of high school for a few years, or more, and are continuing their education. On Friday, freshmen at the MOVC picked up some free goodies, met mentors and reviewed overall class expectations. Pictured are scenes from the lunch break at Friday’s event which offered free pizza and cookies provided by the MOVC and a chance to meet new classmates. Classes begin on Monday at both the MOVC and Huntington’s main campus.
