ROANE COUNTY — A man wanted for questioning in his wife’s shooting death has been found dead, apparently after committing suicide.
Lt. Michael Baylous of the West Virginia State Police reports Charles E. Anderson, 57, was found at approximately 12:45 p.m. Friday in a wooded area near Sandy Hollow Road in Roane County. He was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A caller advised troopers of his vehicle along the roadside. The WVSP had been searching for Anderson since Wednesday when his wife, Kathy Anderson, 54, was found shot dead in her Letart home on Backwaters Drive.
Troopers with the Mason County Detachment of the WVSP were at Kathy Anderson’s home after being dispatched there to do a well-being check. Kathy Anderson was last seen alive at a business in Jackson County, W.Va., last Tuesday, a day before her body was discovered by troopers, according to the WVSP.
The Anderson’s were reportedly separated at the time of the shooting. The investigation into this case continues.
