The Gordon and Mildred Jackson Foundation Fund invests in organizations and ideas that benefit the community. This week, the foundation, represented by Mario Liberatore, pictured at right, presented the Mason County Library with a check for $2,600 to purchase 50 folding chairs and a display case. Pictured accepting the check is Pam Thompson, director of the Mason County Library System. Also pictured, the display case with many books, including “The Butterfly Effect,” a tale of how one person’s actions and decisions can create a ripple effect to benefit many more. With recent cuts to library funding, Thompson said grant awards such as those from the Jackson Foundation help the library continue to offer services to affect the lives of patrons.
