POINT PLEASANT — This year’s playful installment by the Point Pleasant Junior/Senior High School Theater Department surpasses “spectacular” and ventures into the realm of “spectaculathon” — complete with talking fish, royalty and familiar fairy tales.

“The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon,” a comedy by Don Zolidis and directed by Kitti Kaylor, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 3-5 at Wedge Auditorium located at PPJ/SHS. The cost is $5 — a small price to pay to support the arts in the community.

According to Kaylor, students have been working for the last two months to prepare for their production of this popular comedy. The play is described as a fast-paced parody of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales — with a modern twist.

Students in grades 7-12 will fill the character roles (see complete cast list below), with six lead actors who are seniors in this year’s PPHS Class of 2014. These seniors have at least 11-14 plays under their belts already at PPJ/SHS, with this one being their last performance as students, Kaylor said.
