The mighty Ohio River has been running high and fast these days thanks to all the precipitation in all its forms this winter. The river crested at Point Pleasant Riverfront Park on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 30.34 feet, according to the National Weather Service - flood stage is 40 feet. Still, this was enough to bring the water well into the amphitheater, along with mud and debris. As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, the water had receded to 29.65 feet. No doubt the Ohio River will be back again as this winter marches on and into a chance of more rain and snow expected this weekend.
