POINT PLEASANT — One man has been arrested and one is still wanted after an alleged break-in.

Officers with the Point Pleasant Police Department (PPPD) say last week, Ralph R. Kerwood, 30, Point Pleasant, was arrested by Lt. Shawn Ross on a warrant for grand larceny stemming from an investigation of an outbuilding being broken into and property stolen from a residence.

Kerwood appeared in Mason County Magistrate Court where a $20,000 bond was set. Kerwood was then transported to the Western Regional Jail.

Officers are looking for a second suspect in this crime - Robert “Robbie” Smith, 37, Point Pleasant. Smith is also wanted for grand larceny.

The PPPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Smith. Anyone with any information should call 304-675-1104, or 9-1-1. The department only needs your information, not your name.

This incident reportedly occurred in the 2000-block of Jefferson Blvd. and involved items such as tools, a television, generator, new ceiling fans, etc. According to the owner, around $3,000 worth of items were stolen from an outbuilding and their home’s basement. Some of the items have been recovered.
