As the sun set on Monday, the temperature in downtown Point Pleasant was at zero degrees Fahrenheit as residents braced for the coldest night of the year - in many years. Tuesday morning and afternoon isn’t expected to be much warmer with highs around eight degrees, west winds 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph and wind chill values as low as 28 below. Tuesday night the winds will die down a bit, ranging from five to 15 mph producing wind chill values as low as nine below. Despite the frigid temperatures, these residents were out for a brisk walk with this pup along Main Street on Monday. Meanwhile, at Gunn Park, Mothman was dressed and ready for the long, cold night ahead.
