POINT PLEASANT — A Saturday evening ride on an ATV along the Sandhill Rd. area has resulted in serious injuries for two people.


According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department, James Shannon Williamson, 39, Huntington and Bethany Shay Slinde, 38, Point Pleasant, were both injured as a result of the crash. A deer was reportedly involved in causing the accident.


The pair were transported by emergency air medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. A call to St. Mary’s for an update on the pair’s separate conditions wasn’t immediately returned before press time on Monday evening.


No more details have been released about the accident. The Mason County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
