POINT PLEASANT — This year marks the fourth year for the Miss Country Fall Festival Pageants which take place on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the West Virginia State Farm Museum.
The royalty chosen each year represents the Country Fall Festival each October on the museum’s grounds. Pageant directors Delyssa Edmonds and Rebecca Roll recently announced this year’s contestants for the Teen and Miss divisions.
Teen: Peyton Lovell, 15, daughter of Michael and Barbara Williams of New Haven; Melanie Smith, 13, daughter of Tammy Reynolds and Denny Reynolds of Point Pleasant; Brittany Gillam, 15, daughter of Joey and Crystal Gillam of Vinton, Ohio; Sumer Hughes, 13, daughter of Jill and Billy Hughes of Glenwood; Victoria Counts, 14, daughter of Andy and Loretta Counts of Vinton, Ohio; and Logan Bissell, 15, daughter of Royce and Stacy Bissell of New Haven.
Miss: Halley Alberts, 16, daughter of Tonya and Jay McGuire of Crown City, Ohio; Shiloh Wamsley, 16, daughter of Juli and Greg Wamsley of Point Pleasant; Lyndie Layton, 17, daughter of Amy and Don Layton of Point Pleasant; and Krystal-Lynn Starcher, 16, daughter of Greg and Shelly Starcher of Parkersburg.
There will also be pageants for Wee Miss (zero-12 months); Tiny Miss (13-36 months); Little Miss (3-5); Young Miss (6-9); and Junior Miss (10-12). All pageants will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Farm Museum. Registration is open for the children and baby’s contest. Those interested in competing should arrive at 10 a.m. for registering (Little, Young and Junior Miss), and 1 a.m. for Wee and Tiny Miss. This pageant is closed to a 50 mile radius within Mason County.

The Teen and Miss contestants will compete in Private Interview, Promotional (Miss only); Down on the Farm Wear, Evening Wear and On-Stage Interview. The pageant begins at 6 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to bring a canned food donation for the food pantry at Crosslight of Hope in Ashton. Other pageants begin at 11 a.m. (Children’s), and 2 p.m. (Baby’s Contest). City National Bank is a sponsor of the pageant.
