The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on July 10, 2014, at approximately 3:24 p.m. on Chapparal Road at the intersection of Rosselot Road.

A 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, operated by Josh A. Moore, 19, of Winchester was traveling southbound on Chapparal Road. The preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle operated by Moore traveled off the right side of the roadway and then off the left side of the roadway. After driving off the left side of the roadway, the vehicle struck a ditch and overturned several times, traveling over 100 feet before coming to a rest on its top behind a house it barely missed striking. Moore was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.

Air Evac was dispatched to transport Moore to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center; however, his injuries were so severe that the helicopter was diverted to Adams County Regional Medical Center. Moore was pronounced deceased at ACRMC.

A passenger in Moore’s vehicle, Ryan P. Planck, 20, of West Union sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to ACRMC where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Patrol.
