A reported heroin overdose at the City Motel Wednesday night resulted in two individuals being arrested on multiple drug-related charges.

At around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Washington C.H. Police officers responded to Room 22 at the City Motel, 1524 Washington Ave., on a call of a male not breathing. Officers found a man identified as Jamey G. Wamsley, 36, of 812 Delaware St., Apt. 14, unconscious on the floor of the room. Officers also reportedly found a hypodermic syringe on the bed.

Wamsley was transported by the Fayette County EMS to Fayette County Memorial Hospital.

While on scene, officers learned that a man and a woman had fled the room prior to their arrival, according to reports.

Police found that the room was registered in the name of Michell R. Bunyard, 31, of 2947 State Route 734 in Jeffersonville. Officers searched the immediate area and located Bunyard and another man. Bunyard was found to have a bench warrant for her arrest.

Following her arrest, a search of Bunyard’s purse located numerous items of drug paraphernalia and two hypodermic syringes, police said. One of the syringes contained an off-colored liquid.

Bunyard was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the bench warrant. She is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail without bond per the instructions of the bench warrant.

After Wamsley was treated at FCMH, police took him into custody on an active bench warrant for his arrest. In his right watch pocket, officers located a cellophane wrapper containing six orange capsules and two yellow pills.

Wamsley was charged with possession of Schedule IV drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, and the bench warrant for failure to appear. He is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $1,750 bond.
