About $25,000 in cash, drugs, firearms and other items have been seized by law enforcement agencies and three arrests have been made as the result of a multi-department investigation into drug trafficking at a Hillsboro apartment complex.

Highland County Sheriff Richard Warner said Monday that over the last few months, the sheriff’s office, Hillsboro Police Department, U.S. 23 Major Pipeline Task Force and the Ohio High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area unit have conducted a probe involving drug trafficking at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Bigelow Street in Hillsboro.

On March 5, Warner said the sheriff’s office executed a warrant at 324 Bigelow St., Apt. D1 in Hillsboro as the result of a lengthy investigation. The search based on the warrant yielded approximately $25,000 in cash, drugs, firearms, syringes, scales and two motor vehicles.

Astasia Deaton, Justin Deaton and Bryon Clemons were arrested and charged with possession of drugs. Warner said more charges are expected and will be presented to Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins for presentation to an upcoming grand jury.
