PPIB announces city flower colors

Event dates also set

Point Pleasant In Bloom (PPIB) has chosen its flower colors for the city and set some important dates.

The flower color this year is shades of red. Point Pleasant residents and businesses are encouraged to plant and arrange flowers on their property in these shades as a community activity.

Important dates include: City-Wide Cleanup Day on April 7; City Yard Sale on May 5; Perennial Sale on May 12; planting of flower pots downtown on May 19.

PPIB recently expressed appreciation to those individuals and businesses that purchased nuts in the group’s fall nut sale and barbecue lunches during January. The money will be used for the purchase of the flowers for the flower pots in the downtown area of Point Pleasant, the Mason County Tourism center, the butterfly garden and flower boxes at Krodel Park. The group also plants and maintains around the “Welcome to Point Pleasant” sign on Route 62 north.

PPIB would welcome new members. If interested call 304-675-1865.
