POINT PLEASANT — This Saturday will be a day for food, fun, fellowship and remembering friends during the Alan Litchfield Memorial Hog Roast.
The event is sponsored by The Kitchen Table, the outreach committee of the Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary. The free event is from 4-6 p.m. in the PVH Wellness Center Parking Lot. On the menu are pulled pork, baked beans, pasta salad, desserts and water, tea or lemonade to drink.
Like last year’s inaugural hog roast hosted by TKT, there will be corn hole, bobbing for apples and pumpkin painting for the kids – again, all at no charge. Also, the popular, local band, Blue Moves, will return for a repeat performance at the hog roast, bringing their unique spin on Elton John songs and other classic tunes.
In addition to providing free food to the community, TKT will also be kicking off its 2017 Canned Food Drive with donations of canned food being accepted and then used during the organization’s food basket giveaways around the holidays.
This year’s hog roast is being held in memory of Litchfield, who passed away suddenly a year ago. Litchfied is the father of TKT member, Beth Litchfield, and often attended and supported TKT events.
