Mason County Special Investigation Unit
After a year-long investigation led by the Mason County Special Investigation Unit, a Point Pleasant man was arrested on multiple felony drug charges.
D’Arius C. Franklin, a.k.a. “D”, 31, was arrested on multiple felony warrants, including two counts of distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school and one count of distribution of heroin, according to a press release from the Mason County Special Investigation Unit. The school was identified as being in Mason County.
Franklin was apprehended on Tuesday in Buffalo. The Putnam County Special Enforcement Unit assisted in the arrest. Franklin appeared for arraignment before Magistrate Gail Roush in Mason County Magistrate Court on Tuesday who set his bond at $75,000. As of Tuesday evening, he remained incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail.
The Mason County Special Investigation Unit consists of personnel from the Mason County Sheriff’s Department and Point Pleasant Police Department.
