Point Pleasant Police Department
On Monday, officers with the Point Pleasant Police Department responded to the 1300-block of Viand Street in regards to a reported altercation in progress, and a handgun allegedly being fired. According to a press release from the PPPD, upon officers arriving, they found a couple of people laying on the ground, and a handgun as well. During the investigation, it was determined that the handgun was pulled out by a male subject and he and another male fought over the gun, when the gun went off, according to PPPD. No injuries were reported as a result of the gun being fired, according to PPPD. It was then reported that one of the females allegedly picked the handgun up and allegedly started pointing it at people in the area, which led to the arrest of Kelly M. Randolph, 40, Point Pleasant. Randloph was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and brandishing a weapon. Lt. Matt Taylor is the arresting officer.
The Point Pleasant Police Department recently released its monthly activity report as follows for September: 26 misdemeanor arrests; 12 accident reports taken; 28 complaint reports taken. Arrested and transported to the Western Regional Jail by PPPD personnel were: Bernard Sheppard, domestic battery, malicious wounding. James Hairston, trespassing. Kenny Wroten, domestic battery. Jamie Parsons, battery. Joshua Parsons, battery. Kevin Graley, causing harm to EMS personnel. Tyra Black, sexual abuse third degree. Jeremy Vickers, domestic battery. Cody Hall, domestic battery. Amy Dunford, petit larceny times 16.
