Shawn M. Gibbs, 29, Hartford, has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and was arrested by Deputy J.T. Veith with the Mason County Sheriff’s Department. According to the criminal complaint filed in Mason County Magistrate Court, Gibbs is accused of making arrangements through a bogus Facebook account operated by the sheriff’s department, to meet and deliver two suboxone pills.
Gibbs allegedly advised in the messages that he would be wearing a black Jordan t-shirt and a black Jordan hat. Gibbs further stated that “we” could meet in Hartord, according to the deputy who filled out the criminal complaint. Deputies then responded to the area where Gibbs allegedly advised to meet. Deputy J.L. Cavender, who was in an undercover vehicle, observed a male subject walking southbound along Route 62 in Hartford and further observed the male subject to have a black Jordan t-shirt and hat on. Cavender made contact with the subject identified as Gibbs. Upon making contact with Gibbs, he had in his possession an amber pill bottle containing two orange pills identified as suboxone and a BB gun in his front waist band, according to the complaint.
His bond was set at $100,000 by Magistrate Gail Roush.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department also reports the following arrests made July 8 – July 14: Christy D. Dailey, 59, Point Pleasant, assault, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Roger Bryant, 42, New Haven, warrant – accident involving damage to vehicle, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Walter P. Kidd, III, 23, Apple Grove, domestic battery, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Tara L. Eblin, 36, Point Pleasant, fugitive from justice, arrested by Deputy M. Stewart. Misty D. Mount, 36, Gallipolis, Ohio, DUI, arrested by Sgt. Terry.
