POINT PLEASANT— This Saturday, the West Virginia State Farm Museum is hosting an antique tractor pull.

Starting at 5 p.m. at the farm museum grounds, tractors of a certain vintage will be lining up to pull the sled down the track.

Anyone can show up and compete with their antique tractor and compete. Tractors must be a model year 1959 or older, and fit a maximum width 15.5 inch tires, while tractors over 6,500 pounds can run a 18.4 inch wide tire. The top three places will receive an award, and will pay $15 per hook up.

During the tractor pull, concessions will be provided by Point Pleasant High School FFA Alumni, but the farm museum will be closed at its regular time of 5 p.m. There will be no other attractions going on during the evening. Spectators can get in for free, and a local business has donated door prizes to be given out.

John Ohlinger is the coordinator for the event as well as a competitor.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Ohlinger said. “We compete against each other, and we help each other out in the pits when a tractor breaks.”
