Mason County Sheriff’s Department

The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests from Nov. 22-Nov. 30: Jason D. Combs, 28, Leon, conspiracy to commit felony, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson. Travis M. Meadows, 29, Fraziers Bottom, entering without breaking, arrested by Lt. Greene. Anthony R. Wells, 41, conspiracy to commit a felony, arrested by Lt. Greene. Charles L. Smith, Jr., 43, Point Pleasant, possession with intent to deliver, arrested by Lt. Greene. Amanda M. Denias, 32, Gallipolis Ferry, shoplifting third offense, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Charles D. Meeks, 23, Gallipolis Ferry, fugitive from justice, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson. Norma J. King, 42, Point Pleasant, worthless check warrant, arrested by Cpt. Peterson.

Mason County EMS calls

Mason County EMS was toned out a total of 175 times, between Nov. 16 and Nov. 28. Station 100 had 102 calls, Station 200 had 32 calls and Station 500 had 41 these include all calls, transports as well as emergencies and others. There were 106 patients taken to the area hospitals: 53 to PVH, 18 to HMC-G, 20 to SMH, 6 to CHH, 2 to CAMC, 1 to Thomas, 2 to OSU, 1 to Children’s in Columbus, 1 to Highlawn Hospital, and 1 to Putnam General Hospital, these include transports as well as emergencies.

All three stations were toned out 175 times; there was 31 calls which resulted in not taking a patient anywhere: 4 ALS assists, 11 cancelled enroute, 7 patients refused care, 3 treated then refused, 2 dead on scene, 3 no patient contact, and 1 treated and then transferred to air medical.

Out of the 97 emergencies that were toned and treated, but not necessarily transported: 35 general medical, 3 abdominal pain, 6 altered mental status, 1 allergic reaction, 11 breathing problems, 1 cardiac arrest, 8 chest pains, 3 diabetic emergency, 9 fall victim, 3 fractured body Part, 2 head injury, 2 hemorrhage/laceration, 1 hypertension, 3 hypotension, 2 overdose, 3 psychiatric problems, 2 stroke/CVA, and 1 seizure. ALS transports: 10. BLS transports: 45. PVH transferred 84 patients from their facility. WVU-Ruby transferred 1 patient from this facility.
