Point Pleasant Primary School recently made its “Paws for a Cause” donation to the Mason County Animal Shelter.
In an effort to instill altruism in students, donated items were set up in a “store” where students made purchases with their “tiger bucks” which are earned through good behavior choices. Representatives from the animal shelter, Gary Trout and Betty Neville were present to accept the donations. Trout stated he loved the store to teach students and he had never seen anything like it before.
Staff stated they were very proud of the students, as they donated $2,103 of their “tiger bucks” to purchase these items for “Paws for a Cause.”
According to a statement from the school: “It is important to the staff at PPPS that we have a part in teaching the students the responsibility of caring through projects such as this small store.”
