POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Pleasant Valley Hospital’s Customer Service Employee of the Month for October is Cathy Skidmore in the Billing Department.
Skidmore began her career with PVH in February 1989 as a follow-up account representative.
PVH officials said Skidmore was nominated because of a patient’s call to administration. According to the patient, Skidmore spent a great deal of time explaining his accounts and balances due. She was calm and very helpful. To show the type of employee Skidmore is, she would not take all the credit in helping the patient with his insurance questions, saying it was a team effort with the help of her fellow employee.
PVH officials describe Skidmore as helpful, polite, and goes the extra mile to help patients understand the ever-changing world of insurance billing.
In recognition, she received a $50 check and a VIP parking space. She will also be eligible for the Customer Service Employee of the Year award with a chance for $250.
Skidmore and her husband, David, live in Point Pleasant. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending Soul Harvest Church. Skidmore has a passion for dogs and often donates to the local animal shelter.
