Local youth to go on Peru mission trip

Blayne Butler, a sophomore at Point Pleasant High School, is planning a mission trip to Peru this summer.

Butler has been on the First Church of God of Anderson Indiana’s West Virginia Chapter State Youth Leadership Team for the last two years; he also attends the First Church of God in Point Pleasant. Butler, along with other leaders, coordinate the annual State Youth Church Camp Week and the State Youth Convention Weekend. According to Butler, this summer, this leadership team has a unique opportunity to show the love of God through service on a mission trip to Roma Lee School Reque, Peru.

“It has been an amazing experience serving on the State Leadership Team and I can’t wait to find out what God has in store for us in Peru,” Butler said.

To help curb the cost of the trip, a spaghetti fund raiser is being held on Sunday, February 26, from noon to 2 p.m. at the First Church of God, in Point Pleasant. Those who would like to help, but cannot attend this fundraiser, can donate checks or money orders to: Cross Point Youth (note Peru Trip – Blayne Butler on memo line) and mailed to First Church of God, 2401 Jefferson Ave, Point Pleasant, WV 25550. Questions, call 304-675-3984.
