The first meeting of the year held several assignments for the five Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) clubs in the county to attend and host throughout the year to come.
The clubs have been preparing for their “Book Exchange” projects. Members will be placing boxes, containing books for the “Take a Book, Leave a Book” project throughout the county. Both Mason County Vocational and Hannan FFA have agreed to make these boxes. WoHeLo CEOS members say they’re happy to be working with Hannan FFA for this particular project.
WoHeLo’s members state they’re looking forward to preparing crafts and homemade goodies for the CEOS Handmade Holiday Treasure Craft Show which takes place in November again this year. The clubs – Avalanche, Camp Conley, Leon, Pleasant, and WoHeLo – are all looking for anyone who may be interested in participating and having a table in the craft show.
Mason County CEOS members are also looking forward to the upcoming Area Spring Meeting, the Outdoor Youth Expo, the Plant Exchange and Taste of CEOS, and visits to the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The next meeting for WoHeLo’s club will be Feb. 8. Lunch will start at 11 a.m. at Ashton Baptist Church; meeting will follow. New potential members are always welcome to come and enjoy the day with a full lunch, participate in the meeting, and meet new people.
Members in attendance were Marie Mayes, Betty Mayes, Betty McCoy, Patricia Flora, Linda Holley, Janelle Erwin, Doris Duncan, and Desire Sparks.
