Hillbillies 4-H Club news


Several members of the Hillbillies 4-H Club attended the Achievement Banquet on Nov. 19 at the First Church of God in Point Pleasant. This was an awards banquet for all Mason County 4-H Clubs in recognition to the previous year’s projects. The banquet was catered by the ladies of the First Church of God.


Carolee Hoffman, Allison Tennant, and Lacy Neal participate in a proper teeth brushing experiment using peanut butter. This experiment was presented by Health Officer Leah Hoffman.


New Haven Volunteer Firefighter Trey Anderson, shows the Hobos Cloverbuds the inside and outside of a firetruck while answering questions on fire safety. During the Hillbillies 4-H meeting, Anderson showed two short clips on barn safety and distracted driving.


The November meeting of the Hillbillies 4-H Club was held at the White Church Community Building. Members voted to go Christmas Caroling at Lakin Hospital on Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. and caroling in the country on Dec. 20 at 5:30 p.m. The club also voted to have an evening of fun at Southern Ohio Gymnastics in Gallipolis, Ohio on Dec. 30 from 7-9 p.m. Next meeting will be Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m., when the club will celebrate with its annual Christmas Party.
