Winter coats needed for local children

Though the area has seen unseasonably warm weather recently, that will probably not last for much longer.

In preparation for the colder weather ahead, the Mason County Ministerial Association is spear-heading the effort to provide warm winter coats to needy children throughout Mason County. Working through the school system, the ministerial association has learned of over 340 children throughout the county who need winter coats. Many churches have “adopted” children, sometimes “adopting” entire schools, to help make sure no child has to wait for the bus on cold mornings without a warm coat.

As of this writing, there remain about 110 students who still need someone to provide them a warm coat for the winter. Any church, individual, or organization that would like to help provide winter coats for children is invited to contact the Mason County Ministerial Association by phone at 304-675-8178, or by email at pastor@msbcwv.org.
