The American Queen, the largest steamboat ever built, docked at Riverfront Park on Monday for the first time this summer. Members of the tourism community in Mason County were waiting to greet the boat and its passengers — the latter of which departed to various attractions across the county. Along Main Street, signs were placed in front of businesses and attractions to alert and entice tourists to explore which helps boost the local economy. The boat was scheduled to stop last week, but according to tourism officials, it had some maintenance issues which were clearly addressed in time for the vessel to make its regularly scheduled stop Monday.
