POINT PLEASANT — For those who want to go back to high school and do it all over again … well, you can’t, but you can go to prom again.
The Tri-State Alumni Prom will provide an opportunity for all high school graduates in the tri-state area to relive and recreate their high school prom from 8-11 p.m. May 17 at Point Pleasant Junior/Senior High School.
This creative idea was hatched by members of the Point Pleasant High School Class of 2016 and will be used as a fundraiser to help raise money for their junior class prom.
The prom’s theme is “One Last Night on the Red Carpet.”
This is a semi-formal to formal dance with a caterer and DJ and, according to organizers, ladies can wear their original prom dresses if they so desire. In addition to an Alumni Prom King and Queen being chosen, there will be awards for oldest couple, most class attendance and other surprises.
Lexxy Meadows, president of her sophomore class, is helping organize the event. Meadows said there is no pre-registration required and attendees can pay at the door. For advance tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org or check out the Tri-State Alumni Prom’s Facebook page for more details.
Tickets are $25 for single, $40 for couple and the price is reduced for former prom kings and queens, but bring proof (a photo) of your time as royalty.
The alumni prom, again, is open to all graduates in the tri-state and will take place in the commons area of PPJ/SHS.
