POINT PLEASANT —There’s some new royalty in town.
This weekend the 2014 Mason County Miss 4-H Pageant was held with 18 young ladies from across the county vying for the title of Miss 4-H.
This year’s winners are Young Miss 4-H Kenly Arbogast, Young Miss 4-H First Runner-up Jaidyn Patrick, Young Miss 4-H Second Runner-up Lacey Grimm; Jr. Miss 4-H Katherine Deem; Miss 4-H Alexis Meadows.
This year’s event was held at the State Theater with the purpose of the pageant being to increase self-esteem, public speaking skills and to provide positive representation of the Mason County 4-H program.
Winners were awarded crowns which were donated by Karat Patch, Gallipolis, Ohio. Also, the Mason County Leaders Association will sponsor the winner of the Miss 4-H division if she would choose to run for Mason County Fair Queen.
Haley Sturgeon, 2013 Mason County Fair Queen, was the emcee for the event and ushers were Brad Chattin and Levi Wright.
Organizers say there were special goodbyes and thanks to the 2013 Miss 4-H Queens who were Kamille Boncutter, Miss 4-H, Emily Keefer, Jr. Miss 4-H and Kira Henderson, Young Miss 4-H.
