Two individuals were arrested Thursday evening at a local McDonald’s on drug-related charges.
At around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Washington C.H. Police received a call reporting a suspicious man and woman inside McDonald’s, 280 S. Elm St. A McDonald’s employee told police, “I have two people in here that I’m pretty sure are strung out on heroin. The guy seems to be passed out in the booth and the girl has been putting on makeup for three hours,” reports said.
Officers responded and identified the individuals as Jason H. Haynes, 37, of 7036 U.S. Route 62 in Washington C.H., and Heather A. Holloway, 34, at large. Police found that Haynes had an active bench warrant out of Washington C.H. Municipal Court.
Police requested that Haynes and Holloway come outside and when they did, officers placed Haynes under arrest for the warrant, reports said. During a search of Haynes, officers found a headphone box in the pocket of his pants. Inside the box, officers discovered a baggie containing white powder believed to be methamphetamine, several hypodermic syringes, and several other articles of drug paraphernalia.
Police asked Holloway if she had any contraband on her person and she pulled a box out of her purse containing more syringes and other drug paraphernalia, reports said. She was then placed under arrest for possession of drug abuse instruments.
Haynes was also charged with possession of meth and drug abuse instruments. Both were taken to the Fayette County Jail where they are being held.
