Deputies searching for missing person

GALLIPOLIS — Area law enforcement officers are currently seeking the public’s help in locating a Gallia County man who was reported missing by his family this weekend.

Gallia County sheriff’s deputies are currently seeking information as to the whereabouts of Stephen E. Walter, age 58, who has been reported missing from the Bulaville Pike area.

Walter is a white male described as being 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He reportedly has brown hair and gray eyes.

The missing man has reportedly not been seen by his family for approximately three weeks, and the report in this case indicates that Walter may have medical issues.

No clothing description has been released by the sheriff’s office as this time.

Walter was reportedly last seen in the Gallipolis Township area and may be staying in the Fitch Road area just outside the City of Gallipolis; however, officers have not been able to locate him in that area.

According to Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning, Walter is know to frequent the Second Avenue area in Gallipolis, and he is urging anyone with information concerning this case to contact his office.
